FOUNDING CKO
Care Kitchen Outreach did it's first 300-pound rescue in March 2016 of viable prepared food, that was headed for the trash. It served over 250 meals to those in a drug and alcohol rehabilitation ministry at Set Free Church. |
2016
By the end of our first year we rescued 9,100 pounds (4.55 tons) and fed 18,200 meals. These meals went to 7 rehabilitation homes, the Branch Ministry that feeds the at-risk international community and offers language and job training. |
2017
CKO became a 501c3 and continued to rescue 7,883 pounds of food (3.94 tons) and fed 15,766 meals! We added 2 new ministries to the our distribution network. Stonebrook Family Ministry and Project Connect Nashville. |
2018
Our 'Food Rescue Network' continued to grow with the addition of The Country Music Hall of Fame, Lipscomb University, Susans Catering, MM Events, Chef's Market, Panera Bread, and Logan's Roadhouse. Cul2vate Farms began to give us fresh produce as well. 14,803 pounds of food (7.4 tons) =29,606 meals to the hungry around Middle TN! |
2019
Working through health issues, CKO continued to serve, but by years-end, they were able to rescue 6,229 lbs (3.11 tons) of food, providing 12,458 meals. |
2020
Rescued 500 pounds of food right before the tornado hit. In the first 4 weeks after Covid hit we rescued 36,617 lbs of food (18.30 tons) in bulk in prepared food and provided 67,234 meals! |
